The recipe comes from the quaker oats box and this was a mainstay of my childhood:
Make a double batch.
Feel completely free to exclude the raisins. People feel like the oats and the raisins make this a healthy cookie. This cookie is like 50% sugar. Embrace it’s unhealthiness, and don’t feel obligated to include the raisins.
Feel free to replace the raisins with other things, like chocolate chips.
At home I never included cinnamon – I don’t even remember it being in the recipe – but it’s a good idea, so we included it this time.
